Detectives appeal for info after car deliberately set on fire

Detectives in Motherwell are appealing for information after a car was deliberately set on fire in the Muirhouse area of the town.

The incident happened around 8.50pm on Thursday, February 18, when a grey Audi A3 which was in the carpark at Shields Court, was found on fire.

Officers are keen to speak to a man seen at the time walking from Shields Road to Shields Court. He was wearing dark coloured clothes and carrying a ‘bag for life’ style carrier.

Detective Constable Sharon McBride said: “We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious at the time to get in touch, particularly if you have private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries.

“We would also like to speak to the man seen in the area at the time, or anyone who might know who he is.

“Anyone with information should contact us on 101, quoting incident 3316 of Thursday, 18 February, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
