Detective’s desperate plea as cops try to crack cold murder case

  • Detectives are hoping a significant note will lead to a breakthrough in the 33-year-old cold case murder of Carol Clark, whose body was found near the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal.
  • Ms Clark, a 32-year-old sex worker from Bristol, was last seen on 26 March 1993, and her strangled body was discovered two days later, partially clothed, with her neck broken.
  • The case was re-opened three years ago, leading to the arrest of three men; one has been ruled out, while two others remain under investigation.
  • Police suspect Ms Clark was alive on 27 March 1993, potentially with two men, and her body was likely left at Sharpness Docks in daylight hours during a public event.
  • Investigators are appealing for witnesses who may have seen Ms Clark, who was wearing distinctive clothing, or any suspicious activity around the canal on that Saturday.
