Details surrounding Vikings QB Sean Mannion’s contract

The Vikings signed quarterback Sean Mannion on Sunday afternoon to compete for the backup job to Kirk Cousins.

Details emerged from the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson on Mannion’s contract.

Per Tomasson, Mannion’s contract is a one-year deal for $900,000, a slight raise from last season with the Rams.

Per Spotrac, Mannion has made a little more than $3 million throughout his four-year career.

Mannion will compete with Kyle Sloter for the backup spot. Sloter has yet to take an NFL snap, but this competition should be pretty tight. Sloter was impressive last year in training camp.

For what it’s worth, Sloter is set to make $555,000 next season.
