Details surrounding P Britton Colquitt’s contract with Vikings

The Vikings decided to waive Matt Wile earlier this week and signed veteran punter Britton Colquitt to fill his place.

Per Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune, Colquitt’s contract will be a one-year, $930,000 deal, but will count just $645,000 against the cap.

To compare, Wile was set to make $645,000. The cap hit is actually the same despite Colquitt having a higher salary.

Per Spotrac, Colquitt has made $17.325 million in his career. If he fulfills his contract with the Vikings, this will put him up to $18.255 million.

Not too bad.
