Details of fresh Leeds United bid for Josko Gvardiol emerge as RB Leipzig eye defender

Leeds United are not resting on their laurels and are pushing for more additions ahead of their long-awaited return to the Premier League.

The Whites begin their campaign back in the top-flight with a baptism of fire against defending champions Liverpool at Anfield, where some of their new additions could make their debuts.

Further pieces of business are on the cards though and Leeds have made a fresh offer to sign Josko Gvardiol from Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb.

Fabrizio Romano has stated Marcelo Bielsa's side have submitted a €22m (£20m) bid to sign the highly-rated 18-year-old, as well as 20% of any future sale.

Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, renowned for buying young prospects and developing them before shifting them on for profit, are also in the hunt for the teenager.

However, it's stated that the German outfit are offering just €15m - significantly less than the €25m fee that Dinamo Zagreb are seeking for his services.

While Leeds' own offer falls narrowly short of that price-tag, the clause they are offering could be appealing as it would provide the potential of a huge cash influx further down the line.
