Details of close friend who helped Adele get over her marriage breakdown uncovered

Adele’s secret friendship with the music producer who helped her take back control of her life following the collapse of her marriage has been uncovered.

The 33-year-old singer was married to 47-year-old businessman Simon Konecki in 2018 after seven years of dating – before splitting and having their divorce finalised last year.

Adele’s latest album, 30 – which was released last November – has famously utilised her marriage breakdown to create heartbreak anthems and a record of her ‘most personal’ music to date.

It is now suggested that 37-year-old Grammy and Oscar winning Swedish music producer Ludwig Goransson was instrumental in helping Adele rebuild her life and write her chart topping latest album.

The Sun on Sunday reports a source whispering: “Adele began working with Ludwig at around the time she was experiencing her marriage to Simon ending.

“She has said often in the past that when she is going through something difficult the studio is her safe place, and this was no exception.

“She and Ludwig developed a close friendship and they shared some very intense, late-night conversations about their lives and relationships.

“He was then engaged to his now wife [violinist Serena McKinney], so there is no suggestion that anything romantic happened between them.”

The report goes on to suggest the singer’s latest single, Oh My God, was inspired by Ludwig – while the report also emphasises that Adele and the producer were only ever friends.

Adele previously expressed her joy at working with Ludwig during an interview with The Face last year where she said: “We just really got on, and the chords and cadences that he has in his bank — I’ve never heard anything like it.

“He’s the coolest guy. There’s something about Scandinavians that’s different. I don’t know where they get their f***ing ideas from but they are incredible.”

While Adele’s marriage to Simon – with whom she shares a nine-year-old son named Angelo – came to an end in 2019, she has since found love with sports agent Rich Paul, 40.

She opened up about their blossoming romance to Vogue magazine last October, saying: "He’s great. He’s so f***ing funny. He’s so smart, you know."

While she also explained how and why she initially kept their romance a secret from everyone, including her friends.

She told Rolling Stone last year: "I didn't really tell many of my friends at the beginning because I wanted to keep it to myself. None of them believed it!”

While in the same interview she shared the moment she realised her divorce had been the ‘right’ decision for her, saying: "I remember going upstairs, and doing my face, and getting into bed. I felt quite hopeful. It was the first time I felt I'd had a really nice evening and I was OK being in the house and going to bed on my own.”
