Details emerge on Le’Raven Clark’s contract

The Indianapolis Colts brought back some depth to the offensive line last week when they re-signed offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark to a one-year deal.

Coming almost immediately after Joe Haeg left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Colts quickly re-signed their backup left tackle in Clark to give some continuity to the room.

The details of the contract have been reported as Clark is getting $1.2 million with $300,000 fully guaranteed, per Joel A. Erickson of Indy Star.

While the starting five for the Colts is as strong as it gets across the league, the depth on the front is extremely concerning. The Colts lost both Haeg and interior offensive lineman Josh Andrews—the backup center in 2019—to other teams in free agency.

Though Anthony Castonzo signed a two-year extension, the Colts have to find his successor soon. It isn’t Clark, who hasn’t been impressive since joining the Colts as a third-round pick in 2016. But Clark will provide depth and some flexibility if Indy decides to try him on the interior a la Ereck Flowers.

Clark has started 12 games since being drafted but didn’t play a single snap in 2019, mostly due to the durability of the starting five upfront. He provides much-needed depth, but the Colts will have to add more to the unit this offseason.
