If you're heading to Gamescom this year, you might want to consider where to spend your time and where to get the most bang for your buck. After all, it’s expensive to go to Gamescom, and you’re gonna be waiting hours in queues to get a small look at some of the best upcoming games.
So, before consumers can get into the halls from tomorrow, we took it upon ourselves to survey everything on offer at the show and come to the consensus of which company brought the best lineup of games. We say "best lineup," which means we’re including companies with multiple third-party games at their booths, not just exclusives.
You might think this is unfair, but when it comes to a lineup, publishers hold the most sway, and that’s why we have given both Nintendo on Xbox this award, not only for their first-party offerings but also for what they bring to the table.
After all, Nintendo has Pokémon, Metroid, Kirby, and a bunch of other first-party titles alongside a hunkering of third-party support, and over on the Xbox side you can try things like the new Indiana Jones DLC, Ninja Gaiden 4, a bunch of new Indies like Power Wash Simulator 2, and of course sample the Asus ROG Ally, which is Xbox’s first handheld console to see what all the fuss is about.
The only downside to both booths is they don’t offer as many stations for some of the more popular games. However, they both have something that the other booths don’t.
And that is Hollow Knight Silksong.
It was tough to choose one, and I have to give a shoutout to both lineups, including Bandai and Capcom, which have gone all out with their offerings, and believe that these booths would win if we were to only pick first-party exclusive lineups. But Silksong is the difference here.
Xbox only has four stations and Nintendo only a dozen, so if you want to try it out, make sure to rush to these booths tomorrow and pray there aren't hour-long queues.
