Singer Michelle Williams has furiously berated a male fan who told her "you need some children".
The Destiny's Child star, 41, took the man to task after spotting the comment on her Instagram account, telling him to consider that a woman might not want children, or might want them but be unable to have them.
She insisted: "Don't ever let that come out of your mouth again."
The well reasoned response, which won her hundreds of 'likes' from other fans, was sparked when the fan replied to a video of the star promoting her new book.
"Michelle I love you but you need some children...u r 2 bored..." wrote the man.
At first Michelle simply responded dismissively with a line of laughing face emojis and the words: "You’re an idiot!!!!"
He was shocked, replying: "Woooooooow that was uncalled for thank you."
Michelle then took him to task, taking time to explain why he was out of order.
She wrote: "What’s uncalled for is you telling a woman that she needs to have children.
"What if that woman CAN’T have children?? What if that woman DOESN’T WANT children.
"WATCH YOUR MOUTH and FINGERS..... Don’t you ever let that come out of your mouth or your fingers on a comment section again to ANYBODY.
"I would have ignored but too many people need tp stay out of a woman’s uterus!!! Now scram and be blessed!!!"
It seems Michelle's strongly felt message, first reported by TheShadeRoom, hit home.
The Instagrammer apologised, writing: "My apologies Ms Williams. I will never forget that..."
Michelle sold more than 60million records as part of her former band Destiny's Child alongside Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland.
