Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate release date

Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate launches with the weekly reset on July 15. The servers should be online at 12pm CT, but as it always is with Destiny 2 expansion launches, expect queue times, Cat errors, and the beloved “One Moment Please” screen for the first couple of hours.
Here’s exactly how much time is left until The Edge of Fate is out:
To stay informed on any server issues and potential delays, keep an eye on the Destiny Server and Update Status page on the Bungie website and Bungie Help X (formerly Twitter) account.
Console players should be able to pre-load the expansion. PC players will be able to do so when the downtime starts at 7:45am CT. The expansion requires around 150GB of free space. On PC and PS4, the game requires 330GB of space, but it will still weigh around 150GB after installation.
All new content in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate

This expansion has far too many changes to list them all in one place, as this is basically Destiny 2.5. Below, we highlighted some of the biggest additions and overhauls coming to Destiny 2 in The Edge of Fate.
- Kepler destination: The Edge of Fate takes place on Kepler. This destination comes with a few unique abilities that allow you to explore the areas and solve puzzles in a different way than before.
- New raid: The Desert Perpetual raid launches on Saturday, July 19, alongside the World’s First race. After one team clears it on Contest mode, Normal mode will unlock for all players. In the Ash & Iron update, The Desert Perpetual will receive an update in the form of an Epic Raid.
- Power reset: In the Edge of Fate, we’re going back to 10 Power for a more streamlined progression. Completing the campaign gets you to 200 Power, after which you can climb to 450. With the Ash & Iron update, the cap will increase to 550.
- The Portal: The Portal is the new hub for all Destiny 2 activities. Depending on your Power, you can tackle higher difficulty missions to increase your Power even further and get high-tier loot. There are also plenty of new customizable modifiers for each activity that increase the challenge and rewards.
- Loot tiers: In The Edge of Fate, new weapons and armor follow the new tier system. There are five tiers of gear, and the higher the tier, the better the loot. For weapons, higher tiers mean enhanced perks across all columns, enhanced origin traits, multiple perk options, and even unique cosmetic treatment. For armor, higher-tier pieces grant more stats.
- Updated stats: Stats can now go up to 200 points. Every stat point matters, with points above 100 granting additional bonuses, like increased grenade damage on a Grenade stat (previously, Discipline). Mobility is replaced with Weapons and now increases weapon damage. Recovery is now Class and reduces class ability cooldown. Resilience is now Health and increases the amount of health you recover from Orbs of Power.
- Armor archetypes: Every new armor piece now belongs to one of six archetypes. The archetype defines the primary and secondary stats on an armor piece for more reliable stat spikes for your builds.
- Armor set bonuses: New armor in The Edge of Fate comes with set bonuses. There are two-piece and four-piece set bonuses, depending on how many pieces from that set you’re wearing. This is similar to older seasonal armor set bonuses, but with a more general application.
These are only some of the changes coming to Destiny 2 with The Edge of Fate. There’s also a firing range, new Exotics, and more.
