Destiny 2 patch notes: 5 biggest changes in hotfix 6.2.0.2

Destiny 2 has its big Season 18 update recently, and it went off pretty much without a hitch. The action is well underway and events like the Festival of the Lost are on the horizon for next month. That said, no game is perfect, and there are still a bunch of minor bugs all over the place that need squashing. This hotfix has fixed a whole bunch of problems that might’ve been slightly ruining your intergalactic adventures.

We’ll talk you through the biggest bug fixes in this patch, what the problem was, and how it’s been resolved.

If you want to know more about what’s coming in Destiny 2 then check out our full Season 18 guide.

Reduced PvP damage resistance - Destiny 2

This only balancing change in this patch, the damage resistance tiers used by Omniculus and Whisper of Chains in PvP have been reduced. Here is the full list of changes:

  • Tier 1: 10% to 2.5%.
  • Tier 2: 15% to 5%.
  • Tier 3: 20% to 7.5%.
  • Tier 4: 25% to 10%.

Removed charity emote - Destiny 2

An old emote from a now-finished charity event was unfortunately still appearing in the in-game archive. This emote, known as The Loyal Companion was not supposed to still be in the storefront, so it has now been removed.

Weapon fixes - Destiny 2

Several weapons have had problems that have now been dealt with. Bows would sometimes reload themselves while stowed, the Season 18 Machine Gun and Sidearm mistakenly had two Masterwork slots, and Heavy Grenade Launchers were doing more damage than intended. All of these mistakes have now been corrected, and are working as intended.

Duplication bug fixed - Destiny 2

With Expeditions, there has been a bug for a while that allowed the treasure object to be duplicated when claiming it as a reward. The patch notes claim this was “contributing to inflation across the intergalactic economy”, which sounds like something an EVE Online player should be worried about. Either way, there will be no more treasure duplication going forward, and the economy can recover.

Combination Blow fixed

A few abilities have had their problems as of late, but Combination Blow was by far the biggest issue. Firstly, it was able to stun-lock bosses with a continuous stagger effect, its damage scalar was applying to Tempest Strike, and the regeneration bonus managed to worm its way into Tempest Strike too. Ironically these bug fixes have made both Combination Blow and Tempest Strike less easy to use, even though both are now working as intended.
