Dessie Farrell predicts there will be changes to the Dublin panel next year after successfully completing the six in a row at Croke Park last night.
But the Dubs supremo insisted the senior players can make up their own minds on their future - after Stephen Cluxon lifted the Sam Maguire Cup in the near-empty stadium as the Dubs beat Mayo 2-14 to 0-15 in the All-Ireland SFC final.
Cluxton, 39, is one of seven players in the Dublin set-up who claimed their eighth Celtic Cross but of that number only himself and James McCarthy and Mick Fitzsimons started the decider, while Philly McMahon came off the bench in the final minutes.
Cian O'Sullivan, Michael Darragh Macauley and Kevin McManamon didn't feature.
There will be speculation about some of the veteran's future after this latest triumph, and with the new inter-county set to start in two months' time.
"It’s not too far away," said Farrell, who admitted he was "delighted and a little relieved" that the Dubs got over the line in his first season in charge.
"I suspect there will be a change.
"I’m not sure how many – I won’t be calling for anyone’s retirement or resignation or anything like that.
"Those types of decisions will be left to the players".
