Dessert cafe Bsweet is now open in Nottingham city centre and it looks fabulous

Nottingham's newest cafe has captured the perfect combination of stunning desserts served in the cutest surroundings.

The pretty decor serves as an ideal backdrop for the mesmerising array of sweet treats, from a Cherry Fantasy sundae and Strawberry Roller Coaster Donut Apocalypse monster shake to an ice cream sculpted like a rose and an elegant afternoon tea.

With all that it has to offer, dessert lovers will fall in love with Bsweet, the Instagrammers' dream with so many opportunities for gorgeous photos.

"It's just a joyful place. We wanted to make it very special," said Gino Birinci, who runs the business with his wife Magdalena.

Bsweet lives up to its name with a menu of gloriously decadent sundaes, cakes, pancakes (made from a secret recipe), cheesecakes, waffles and puddings.

Everything is freshly made in the store in Wheeler Gate by Magdalena, who frequently visits expert dessert makers all over Italy to learn the latest techniques.

More than 32 different flavours of 'healthy' ice cream are on sale in flavours including rose, salted pistachio, mango, passion fruit, banana and hazelnut.

It's luxuriously creamy - and you'd never guess, it is made with olive oil, making it vegan friendly. As well as non-dairy, it's sucrose free.

"It's suitable for vegans and people with diabetes and other health issues. It doesn't leave you feeling bloated," said Magdalena.

There's also a number of dairy ice creams, such as Oreo, Raffalo, chocolate orange and Scottish biscuit.

But none of them are on display. Magdalena explained: "Because of the natural ingredients they're kept in darkness. The sun would change the colour. There are no chemicals.

"We bring in the best products, so the pistachios are from Italy - they're the best in the world. We are very passionate about desserts and we want to make everything very special and unforgettable."

Assistant Angelo Leara isn't just a gelato seller - he's an artist, as he sculpts ice cream into petals to create a rose.

A speciality is Magdalena's semifreddo. Part ice cream, part cake and part mousse, the semi-frozen dessert comes in several flavours including forest fruits, pistachio and strawberry, where the light layers of loveliness are presented as a glossy red heart. These too will have vegan options.

It's not just the desserts you'll be snapping. The plush turquoise decor, trailing wisteria over the counter and windows, roses entwined with the staircase, toy unicorns and a blue and white floral selfie wall upstairs make it the Instagrammer's dream.

"This is a place for everyone, from the youngest to the oldest. Flowers always make you happy and it looks fresh, it looks cute. I want it to be different from any of the dessert parlours in Nottingham," said Magdalena.

Bsweet, which also serves a range of Italian coffee, Twinings tea, and cold drinks, has taken over the former Bagel Nash store and has seating upstairs, downstairs and outside, with space for 45 customers.

The present menu is temporary and within a few weeks savoury crepes will be added.

Opening hours are currently 10am until 8.30pm but are subject to change depending on demand.
