A "despondent" woman was rescued from Formby beach after emergency services were called over concerns for her safety.
Southport Offshore Rescue Trust (Southport Lifeboat) deployed quad bikes and a drone over fears for a woman's safety in Formby on Sunday, January 2.
The woman in her 40s was then found by Merseyside Police who met the Southport Lifeboat crew on Victoria Road before they were stood down.

In a Facebook post, Southport Lifeboat explained their first call-out of the year.
The post said: "CALL OUT - 02/01/2022 - 17.51. Our first call-out of the year saw our quads and UAS (drone) tasked to a despondent female in Formby.
"The quads and drone headed to Formby. As they arrived on scene, the female had been taken into the care of the police.
"With that information, all units were stood down and returned to station."
Merseyside Police confirmed the report and said the woman was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson told the ECHO : "We were called to concerns for the safety of a woman in her 40s in the Formby area.
"The woman was located and voluntarily went to hospital."
