Despite 4 years with Eagles, Cardinals LB Jordan Hicks really didn’t get into Philly food

The Arizona Cardinals’ big free agent prize was linebacker Jordan Hicks, who played four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He grew to love the city and all its character, but he never quite got into some traditional Philly cuisine.

No, this is not a hard-hitting football story. Not every story needs to be.

Philadelphia is known for a couple of things when it comes to food. One is its cheesesteaks. The other is scrapple, a dish made from pork scraps.

In an interview this week on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, Hicks admitted he never even tried scrapple.

As for cheesesteaks, he would say only that “there are a couple of places” that are good. While he didn’t say specifically he thinks they are overrated, but when asked if that is what he thinks, he said, “That’s kind of where I was going.”

Now in Arizona, he now will have the opportunity to try our food. Will he try and like cheese crisps, navajo tacos, chimichangas or Sonoran hot dogs?

They are better than Philly’s food, at least in this Arizonan’s opinion.
