Despite uninspiring start, Eddie Jackson says Bears aren’t panicking

Heading into 2019, the Chicago Bears were a team with Super Bowl aspirations. While that mindset might’ve changed on the outside, the Bears still have those high expectations even after an uninspiring 3-2 start.

But even after the offensive struggles, losing defensive tackle Akiem Hicks and right guard Kyle Long, as well as that Oakland Raiders loss that still remains fresh, there’s no sense of panic after six weeks.

“We don’t panic around here,” safety Eddie Jackson said, via the Sun-Times. “We know it’s early in the season. We know what type of team we have.

“The way the team has responded this week, so far, has been a great response. Everyone is happy with where we are right now.”

The same can’t be said for those on the outside. You’d think the Bears were 0-5 rather than 3-2 from the discussion surrounding the team.

The Bears offense is one of the worst in the league, the defense, while still dominant, is coming off its worst game against the Raiders and the NFC North is proving to be one of the best divisions in the league, with the Green Bay Packers surging.

As Chicago enters the toughest part of their schedule, they need to string together some wins. They need their offense to find its identity after a month and a half. They need better play all around on the offense. They need their defense to continue to find success without Hicks. They need to prove why there’s no reason to panic.
