Despite loss, Broncos take small jump in NFL power rankings

The Denver Broncos lost to the Chicago Bears 16-14 in Week 2 but Nate Davis of USA TODAY Sports must have liked their no-quit attitude in the heartbreaking defeat.

Davis moved the Broncos up three spots in this week’s NFL power rankings, ranking them No. 27 overall. Denver is still considered one of the six worst teams in the league but at least that’s better than ranking among the three worst teams in the NFL.

Here is Davis’ commentary with the Broncos’ ranking:

LT Garett Bolles committed four holding penalties Sunday, most anyone’s had in one game since 2014. At least he won’t see Bears again.

Bolles is a hot topic this week and he will remain a topic of conversation until he starts performing better on the field.

Denver is the lowest-ranked AFC West team, behind the Oakland Raiders (No. 23), Los Angeles Chargers (No. 11) and Kansas City Chiefs (No. 2). To view the complete power rankings, click here.
