Desperate search launched for missing Scot thought to have vanished in car

A desperate search has been launched for a missing Scot who is thought to have vanished in his car.

Scott Wares has not been seen at his home in Wick in the Highlands since around 8am on Wednesday and there is increasing concern for him.

Cops have said they believe Scott was driving a red Vauxhall Insignia.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact police and a description has been released of Scott.

A statement from Highlands and Islands Police Division read: "Police in Wick are carrying out enquiries in order to trace Scott Wares who has been reported missing in the area of Wick.

"He was last seen at approximately 8.00pm on Wednesday 4th August 2021 at an address in Wick.

"He is described as a white male, approximately 5’9” tall, slim build with dark hair which is thinning on top.

"He is believed to be using a Red Vauxhall Insignia, registration number PK17 NMZ.

"Anyone with information that may assist officers to locate Scott are urged to call Police Scoltand on 101 and quote reference number 2591 of 05/08/21."
