Police have launched a desperate search for a missing pensioner after he was reported missing on Christmas Eve.
Ian Phillips, 77, who has dementia, was last seen in the Pryde Avenue area of Bonnyrigg around 3.15pm this afternoon.
He was last seen wearing a brown leather jacket, navy trousers and brown leather shoes.
He has one finger missing from his left hand, and may be confused and lost.
A Police Scotland statement said: "His family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
"If anyone has any information relating to his whereabouts, or any possible sightings, please contact local officers via 101, quoting reference number 2267 of 24 December."
