Mum and daughter missing from Scots island for almost four weeks traced safe and well

A search operation underway to trace a mother and daughter missing from a Scots island for almost four weeks has been concluded after the pair were traced safe and well.

Catherine Costello, 57, and her daughter Eve Pender, 13, were reported as missing from their home on the Isle of Lewis.

The pair were last seen at the bus station in Farraline Park in Inverness at 2pm on Wednesday, February 22. They were reported missing to police on March 17.

They had not been seen or heard from since. Officers investigating their disappearance said the mum and daughter were known to travel throughout Scotland frequently and regularly visit Glasgow.

Enquiries were ongoing to trace the pair but police have now confirmed they were found safe and well following search efforts.
