Desperate search for man last spotted at South Parkway with a Batman backpack

A man has vanished after travelling by train to Liverpool from his Derby home.

Police said they were growing increasingly concerned for the safety of the man, who has not been seen since Sunday morning (November 15).

On that day, Gareth Joseph left Derby train station and was expected to travel to Cardiff.

Instead, the 43-year-old, who is from Alvaston, caught a train to Sheffield.

From Sheffield, he travelled on to Liverpool and was last seen leaving the city's South Parkway station on foot at 2.20pm on Sunday.

His family are becoming increasingly worried as he has not been in contact with anyone since and is not believed to have any links to the Merseyside area.

Gareth is described as being white, around 6ft tall with short, light brown hair. He was last seen wearing brown trousers, a beige jumper, a dark brown scarf and a brown jacket.

He had been carrying a grey batman rucksack and a suitcase.

Anyone who has seen Gareth, or knows where he is, should contact Derbyshire police quoting reference 1101 of November 15.
