Desperate plea to find schoolgirl, 12, last seen in Anfield

* Great news, on Thursday Merseyside Police confirmed Chloe has now been found safe and returned home *

Police today turned to the public amid growing concerns for a 12-year-old girl.

Chloe McClure has been missing for 24 hours, failing to return home last night.

Police have launched an urgent plea for people who may know where Chloe is to come forward.

They say she does not have any belongings with her, except for her handbag and police are "increasingly concerned" about her well being.

She was last seen at around 1.50pm yesterday, Tuesday, January 19 in the Anfield area..

Merseyside Police today released a photograph of the missing schoolgirl.

She is described as around 5ft 2in tall, small build with hazel eyes and long hair.

When she was last seen she was wearing a white blazer with cream tie around the waist, black leather like shinny leggings and a black chunky platform trainers with hint of white and orange.

She was carrying a black metal studded handbag.

Chloe is known to visit the Liverpool city centre area.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for Chloe’s whereabouts.

"Please call 101 with any sightings or information, or contact us via @MerPolCC on Twitter, 'Merseyside Police Contact Centre' on Facebook, or via the charity Missing People on 116 000."
