A desperate plea has been made on behalf of a dog with an inoperable tumour who deserves more than to see her final days out in a kennels.
Leena desperately needs a loving new home as sadly, her tumour is likely to spread and the foster home lined up for her fell through recently.
Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary in Liverpool, where Leena went for palliative care, has put out an urgent appeal, saying, “Kennels is no place for a dog in Leena’s condition.”

She needs and deserves a loving home with owners that can give her endless support, care and happiness in the time she has left.
Leena is a medium to large-size Shepherd-type dog around 12 years old.
Rescue Me describes her as “a gentle, friendly soul who loves human company” but she has never lived in a home environment before so will need time to adjust to her new comforts.
The sanctuary is looking for a home local to Merseyside and someone who has transport to take her to vet appointments when needed.
She has not been tested around children, so should not go to a home where there are any under 12 years old.
Leena’s new home should have someone who is around for most of the day and a fully secure private garden.
Rescue Me said: “We think Leena would prefer to be an only dog in the home but she is absolutely fine meeting dogs on walks. She would be ok with dog-savvy cats.
“We know it is a lot to ask but Leena deserves so much more than a kennel in her condition.”
