Girl, 14, who vanished on way to school found safe and well after police hunt

A 14-year-old girl who vanished on her way to school has been found safe and well.

Freya Pull disappeared after being dropped off at a Tesco supermarket in Thirsk, North Yorkshire at 8.40am yesterday.

She was last seen at 9am walking away from the town centre on St James Green towards Long Street.

North Yorkshire Police say her disappearance is out of character and they are concerned for her safety.

The community is rallying together to search for the teenager, who is a keen footballer playing for a local team. A co-ordinated search starting from the Vale pub in Carlton Miniott was launched again this morning.

Police have also been using a helicopter to try to find her.

Freya has is around 5ft 2ins, of slim build with waist-length, light brown hair, which she usually wears in a ponytail.

She is believed to have been wearing her school uniform, black backpack and black hat when she went missing. However, she may now be wearing a beige hooded top with 'Syre' written on it in pink and a black padded jacket, police say.

Officers believe she is more likely to be in a rural area than an urban one.

Freya was later found 'safe and well'.
