Desperate hunt for 21-year-old who 'bought one-way ticket' and said he had 'enough of life'

A frantic search has been launched for a 21-year-old man who "could be anywhere" after reportedly banging his head before he went missing.

Callum Wilson disappeared from his home in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, police said.

The force confirmed the 21-year-old was reported missing to them on Wednesday at 7.30pm.

They said he was last seen at Glasgow City Centre's central station and he is known "to frequent Motherwell and Carluke" areas.

A desperate appeal by friend Amy Robertson on Facebook has been shared more than 6,700 times.

"He hit his head off a wall last night and was complaining of it being sore this morning so he could literally be confused and be anywhere," Amy said.

Callum is said to be wearing a white top, blue jeans, white AirMax 90s and a burgundy Stone Island jacket.

Amy - who fears he could be "absolutely anywhere between Glasgow and Edinburgh" - then updated her post saying he had been seen at Motherwell station and he "was acting out of character and saying he had had enough of life etc".

She said he bought a one-way ticket to Edinburgh but refused to buy a return.

Amy then updated her post further to say he was last spotted on CCTV getting a train to Carlisle.

"Thanks everyone who’s messaged, sharing posts and helping in any way it means a lot to us all!!," she said on Thursday.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace him", the police statement said.

Any information on his whereabouts can be passed to officers at Motherwell via 101 quoting reference number 3027 of 18 November, 2020.
