Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is ‘already in Wisteria Lane’ amid reboot rumours

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has addressed a possible reboot of the hit ABC show, as 2022 marks ten years since the finale of the hit series.

The 47-year-old actress discussed whether she would be open to being involved in revisiting her fan favourite character Gabrielle Solis during an interview on Monday.

The Texan native told Rosanna Scotto during an appearance on Fox Five New York that she would definitely reprise her role on the show, which she starred in alongside Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman.

She said: “Believe me, I would be the first to sign up. I'm already on Wisteria Lane. I'd be like, sign me up.”

She then went on to say that the show creator Mark Cherry feels he has “fully explored” the characters and would need a convincing justification for the return of the characters.

She then joked: “Plus I'm 100 years old. I don't know if anybody cares.”

This comes after a teaser for a Desperate Housewives reboot sent fans into a tailspin on New Year’s Eve.

The official Facebook and Twitter accounts of the ABC show posted a photo of stars Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Dana Delany and Felicity Huffman on New Year’s Eve.

The caption read: “*Desperately* waiting for 2022”, prompting several fans to speculate the post hinted at a possible reboot this year.

One fan wrote: “Wait? Is Desperate Housewives coming back?! I would sooo watch!”

Show creator Marc Cherry recently discussed the possibility of reviving the series, telling Entertainment Weekly: “We had the perfect group of women. With Desperate Housewives, I lucked out with that original cast and I had something to say with that show.

“If I was to do a reboot of it, I would have to come up with a brand-new idea of what fuelled it. I know the formula, and it certainly would be great to try with more time and money.”

Desperate Housewives is still beloved by fans who tuned in from 2004 to 2012, through eight drama-filled and gossipy seasons on Wisteria Lane.

Eva also discussed life as a mother to three-year-old son Santiago Enrique, who she shares with husband José Bastón.

She gushed: “Oh my God, he's amazing. He's taken over my Instagram.

“But he's really funny and talking. He speaks Spanish. He's just great. He's travelling with me all through Mexico so he's always with me.”

The Golden Globe nominee appeared on the Today Show and told hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb that becoming a mom has “changed everything” for her.
