A desperate daughter has said she is 'sick with worry' as a search is launched for her missing dad.
Ali McMurdie has pleaded with the public to look out for her dad Gordon.
He didn't return to his home in the Newarthill area of Motherwell last night and now police are probing his disappearance.
In a post on Facebook, which has been shared nearly 1,000 times, Ali said the worried family had rang round local pubs but they had found no trace.
Ali wrote: "Please could everyone look out for my dad Gordon McMurdie. He’s been going missing repeatedly from morning to midnight or so for some time and is in an extremely poor mental state.
"He didn’t come home last night which is out of character as he always at least comes home. Police are now involved.
"He lives in the Newarthill area of Motherwell but frequents Airdrie often but could be in any of the surrounding areas such as Carfin, New Stevenston, Holytown, Jerviston etc.

"I’ve called every pub in the surrounding areas since last night who have taken his details in case he comes in thankfully with Track and Trace they can tell us if he’s in but no one has said he’s there yet.
"His phone is off and he doesn’t use Facebook regularly."
She added a detailed description of Gordon for anyone to look for him.
She wrote: "He is usually wearing a black padded jacket with a hood, blue jeans, often a blue short sleeve shirt and walking shoes which I think are brown. He normally wears glasses but he’s left these at home which is really unusual as I think he can’t see much at all without them.
"He’s about 5”8 stocky build but slimmer than he usually is, no distinguishing scars, marks or tattoos.
"We have no idea where he goes, but he thankfully doesn’t have his car so I hope this has contained him to at least Lanarkshire.
"I’m sick with worry and just want my dad to be in touch. If you see this dad, I just want to know you’re ok and I love you."
A police spokeswoman confirmed to the Daily Record that a missing person enquiry is ongoing.
