Desperate appeal to find three dogs stolen from Rochdale home

A couple have been left devastated after their three dogs were reportedly stolen from their home in Rochdale.

Pam and Fred Preston had fed and cleaned Maggie, Lizzie and Ronnie just an hour before they vanished on Wednesday morning (Sep 30), they said.

When Fred returned to their kennel at around 11.15am, he said the trio had gone.

The 72-year-old immediately drove around the area to find the dogs, but there was no trace of them.

He saw someone acting suspiciously in a van but didn't have any evidence it was them, according to Pam.

They called police and reported the pets as missing.

The couple believe someone may have been watching them before the dogs were snatched - they live on a remote small holding down a farm lane off Clegg Hall Road.

"I get the sense someone has set it up. There is no one near us, we are on our own. We didn't hear anything," Pam said.

The 68-year-old said she has been feeling 'terrible' ever since the incident.

"It's awful, Ronnie is 10-years-old. He is deaf and can't see very well.

"I can't stop thinking about him, we were just hoping they might leave him somewhere. I can't stop thinking about all of them. (The perpetrators) are heartless.

"It's just horrible. My husband in particular is devastated", she said.

Ronnie, aged 10, is a male Lakeland Terrier Fawn.

Maggie and Lizzie, both three, are female Welsh Terriers with black and tan coats.

Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.

Anyone who finds the dogs is asked to call Pam on 07411228102 or 07867555062.
