Desperate appeal to find missing West Lothian man last seen a week ago

A desperate search is underway for a missing West Lothian man last seen just over a week ago.

Billy McDowell was last seen in the Loch Awe Way area of Whitburn on Friday (31 July).

The 58-year-old is described as around 5ft 2in tall with short grey and white hair and is known to visit local pubs.

It's not known what Billy was wearing.

His family are concerned because he has medical issues and hasn't taken his medication for several days.

Sergeant Chris Grey, of Livingston Police Station, said: "We're appealing to the public to help us find Billy.

Our enquiries have been ongoing for the past week and we have issued an appeal however there is still no trace of him.

"I'd ask people who may have seen a man matching Billy's photo recently or have information where he might go to please contact us.

"I'd also ask people to please check any garages or outbuildings they have in case Billy has sought shelter there." Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1621 of 2 August."
