Designer who has worked with Britney Spears and Taylor Swift opens shop in Liverpool

A talented designer who has worked with Britney Spears and Taylor Swift has opened her own shop selling her dramatic creations.

Heather O'Reilly, 31, from Speke, has previously worked in the design department on Hollyoaks, but left to focus on her own work.

She said she has worked with a number of major artists dressing them at Manchester Arena. Now she has opened her eponymous shop called The Life of O'Reilly.

She was then hand picked to work as a wardrobe assistant for American mega-star Taylor Swift and the A-list work carried on from there, the Echo reports.

The long list of musicians she has worked with includes the Spice Girls, Paul McCartney, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue.

Heather said: “Once I was in they kept contacting me for other tours and shows.

“I got invited to do Dua Lipa this year which would have been going on tour and then Covid happened."

She said she's met all of the stars and it has been a "bit surreal" seeing them in the canteen.

She recalls not recognising Justin Timberlake in the canteen as he seemed "just like a normal person".

“Everyone is really nice, Cher has been my favourite.

"I was never a massive fan but afterwards I thought she was amazing, she has this sort of presence," she added.

“People always ask what's your next concert but I prefer doing this for customers because I get to be more creative.”

Heather is known for her bespoke swimwear and party clothes but has gained recognition across the world for her celebrity Halloween costumes.

She was taught everything she knows by her mum and said even from a young age she had always gone ‘over the top’ for Halloween.

Her costumes are bought by people across the world, with Americans particular fans of her work.

And although she has been selling her designs online for years, her shop in Garston opened in March before lockdown.

Her Halloween window has caused people to stop their cars and reverse to take another look.
