Designer clothing store to vanish from two Greater Manchester high streets

A designer clothing store is to vanish from two Greater Manchester high streets after announcing closing down sales.

Tessuti stores in Stockport and at Bury the Rock are to shut later this year after closing down signs offering discounted stock appeared in the windows at both branches.

The store in Bury will cease trading in August this year according to a sign on the front door. It is unknown when the store at Stockport's Merseyway shopping centre will close its doors.

The company is known for stocking brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Emporio Armani, Billionaire Boys Club and Versace Jeans Couture. There are stores elsewhere in the region, including in the Arndale centre, the Trafford Centre, Bolton and an outlet store at the Lowry.

The Bury branch previously replaced the former Topshop store and also opened at Stockport's Merseyway centre back in Christmas 2018.

In February, the JDGroup announced the formal divestment of Tessuti to Frasers Group. The reasons for the closures have not yet been confirmed.

Bury The Rock, the Merseyway Shopping Centre and Tessuti have been approached for more details.
