Design ideas released for Trump's US Space Force logo

A campaign e-mail showcasing logo design ideas for Donald Trump’s proposed Space Force initiative has been shared online – and people on social media have showed no mercy since.

Screenshots of a letter from Mr Trump’s campaign manager inviting supporters to help the administration choose a design for a Space Force logo has recently made its rounds on the internet.

Mr Pence had laid out details on the Space Force proposal during a speech at the Pentagon earlier in the day.

“President Trump wants a SPACE FORCE — a groundbreaking endeavour for the future of America and the final frontier,“ read the e-mail from Brad Parcale according to screenshots. ”As a way to celebrate President Trump's huge announcement, our campaign will be selling a new line of gear.”

Many on social media shared screenshots of the logos on Twitter, mocking the e-mail and the administration’s Space Force proposal altogether.

One Twitter user, Rob Sheridan, sarcastically offered to design the logo for the Trump administration with a logo reading: "Stretching the boundaries of space exploration".

Christina Wilkie, a CNBC White House reporter, shared a photo of one of the proposed logos with the NASA logo, pointing out similarities.

"If the Trump campaign's design for a Space Force logo looks familiar, that's because it is," she wrote.

Mr Trump's proposed Space Force programme, which requires approval from Congress, would become America's sixth military service by 2020.
