A new design and homeware shop has opened in Clifton Village.
Truce, on Princess Victoria Street, is run by husband-and-wife team Becca and Chris Williamson.
The pair, who also have a branch in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, were inspired to launch their own store after becoming fed up of struggling to find shops they both wanted to visit.
Becca, a former colour expert at Dulux Paints and Chris, who previously worked for an independent audio visual company in London, said they wanted somewhere men and women could both enjoy shopping in.
“It’s where the name Truce came from,” explained Chris. “We wanted to create a space that couples could both go into and enjoy.
"Becca has a wonderful eye for design and she's chosen all the colours for the store. We are really excited about the opening."
The Clifton shop, which is officially launching tomorrow (Saturday, August 15), sells homeware such as candles, vases, and throws; fashion accessories; soaps and perfumes; prints and cards; and even men's clothes.
Becca said: "We have always had aspirations to open a shop in Bristol and Clifton Village, in particular, has a good independent feel.
"We have tested our concept in Gloucestershire and know it works, and wanted to expand into Bristol, which has a really creative community."
The pair said they are "pretty confident" opening a bricks-and-mortar store in the current retail climate.
"When you have goals you work hard to make it work," said Becca.
"People who have visited our Nailsworth store have told us they've missed going into shops and having that experience.
"Hopefully we will have good footfall in Clifton and we are looking forward to officially opening."
The store will be handing out a number of goody bags on Saturday for its launch and giving shoppers the chance to win a pair of Ferm Living ripple champagne glasses.
Visitors just have to take a picture of the shop, post it on Instagram and tag Truce in the post.
Truce's Clifton store will be open every day of the week except Tuesdays. Its opening hours are 10am to 5pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 11am to 4pm on Sunday.
