Deshaun Watson urged Texans fans to cancel a Monday rally that was planned for him

James Harden may not be the only superstar athlete to leave Houston this year.

In the aftermath of Bill O’Brien’s firing and the subsequent search for his replacement, quarterback Deshaun Watson has grown increasingly upset with the Texans organization. And on Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that those within the Texans believe that Watson has played his last game for Houston.

Watson also shared a photo of himself wearing an Atlanta Falcons jacket — the team he rooted for growing up — signaling where he stood with Houston.

But Texans fans still wanted to voice their support for Watson, and a Texans podcaster organized a rally at NRG Stadium on Monday.

Well, Watson wanted that event canceled because the coronavirus pandemic continues to surge in the U.S.

Watson tweeted on Monday that he was humbled by the idea of a rally for him, but due to the surging pandemic, he didn’t want that event to go forward and put people at risk of infection.

That’s leadership right there. Listen to Deshaun.
