Deshaun Watson isn’t frustrated after Texans’ 30-23 loss to the Colts

Cool, calm and collected. That’s Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, no matter the result on Sunday, Monday or Thursday.

Despite losing 30-23 to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Watson addressed the media with a smile on his face. While doing so, he made one thing certain: he isn’t going to boil over from a loss.

Losing happens. The Texans are over it.

“Am I frustrated? No, I’m going to keep my composure,” said Watson. “It’s a long season. We have to give the Colts credit, they handled what they needed to handle.”

Watson went 23 of 34 passing for 308 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in the loss. He added in three attempts for 32 yards over the ground.

The Texans shot themselves in the foot with penalties throughout the game, as they collected 10 yellow flags for 54 yards, including three that gave Indianapolis first-downs on failed third-down attempts.

“We didn’t execute enough to be able to capitalize. We have to take our game to the next level and we’ll get back to the drawing board and get ready for the Raiders,” said Watson. “That’s the biggest thing. We can’t get frustrated. We can’t get discouraged. We have to keep a positive energy and stay motivated. Like I said, anything can happen. This is the NFL. It’s a new week every week.”

The Texans return to home next week after two games on the road. They will host the 3-3 Oakland Raiders, who have not played in California since Sept. 22nd. The goal is to keep a positive energy, despite the loss, to get back on track and in the thick of the AFC playoff race.
