Desert Daze Festival postpones to 2024, announces new Daze in the City series

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Festival promoters have postponed the 11th edition of Desert Daze, originally scheduled for Oct. 12-15 at Moreno Beach inside Lake Perris State Park.

In a press release sent on Thursday, promoters said the reason for moving the event to next year came after careful consideration and they wanted time to "ensure an experience that surpasses expectations for many years to come."

New dates are locked in for the four-day event on Oct. 10-13, 2024. Fans can expect multiple stages, an expanded campground and swimming area, hotel options, art installations, good eats and more.

"Thank you for continuing to make Desert Daze a beautiful experience," co-founder Phil Pirrone said in the press release. "We love Desert Daze and the amazing people who support it. We're already working on 2024 and look forward to seeing you soon."

Though the 2023 lineup had yet to be released, the psychedelic rock fest had already sold early tickets. For those currently holding passes to Desert Daze this year, they will rollover to 2024. Ticketholders can request a refund at seetickets.us. Any further questions can be sent to info@desertdaze.org.

Though the festival won't take place this year, Desert Daze organizers have pivoted to a series of shows dubbed Daze in the City. The concerts will take place from Oct. 10-15 in various venues throughout Southern California.

Shows include: The Black Angels with The Dandy Warhols and Daiistar on Oct. 10 at The Bellwether in Los Angeles and Oct. 11 at The Glass House in Pomona; W.H. Lung and special guests on Oct. 11 at The Echo in Los Angeles; Les Claypool Fearless Flying Frog Brigade on Oct. 12 at Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside; Blonde Redhead on Oct. 12 at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles; Acid Mothers Temple on Oct. 12 at Alex's Bar in Long Beach; Ulrika Spacek, Holy Wave and Daiistar on Oct. 12 at The Constellation Room in Santa Ana; The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Melody's Echo Chamber on Oct. 13 at The Bellwether; Blonde Redhead and Melody's Echo Chamber on Oct. 14 at Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside; and Meltt and special gusts on Oct. 15 at Gold Diggers in Los Angeles.

Tickets for all of these shows can be found at desertdaze.org.

Last year, Desert Daze celebrated its 10th anniversary with performances by Aussie-psych rockers Tame Impala who celebrated its 10th anniversary of the record "Lonerism" by playing it in full, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Chicano Batman, The Marías, Beach House, Men I Trust, BADBADNOTGOOD and more.
