DeSean Jackson is returning to Philadelphia to play for the Eagles today, but he’ll have Los Angeles close to his heart this season as he pays tribute to a fallen friend. Jackson will be playing in custom cleats this season, in honor of his friend, the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot in killed at the age of 33.
Jackson had the shoes done by Marcus Rivero of Soles By Sir, and he plans to wear the shoes every game, thus likely earning a fine for each outing. The NFL only allows custom cleats to be worn in games during its “My Cause, My Cleats” period.
Both Jackson and Hussle grew up in the Crenshaw section of Los Angeles.
