DeSean Jackson brings in long-time trainer to assist with his recovery from abdominal injury

DeSean Jackson has called in reinforcements from the west coast to help assist with his recovery from an abdominal injury. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Jackson has flown in his long-time trainer, Gary Cablayan, to assist in his recovery from that has seen Jackson miss three straight games and most of the Birds loss on the road in Atlanta.

“He’s feeling like he can move now,” Cablayan said Wednesday, “so it’s just trying to get back up to some faster speeds and getting his body ready. It’s just giving him that confidence with me here. When you have that much history, there’s a comfort in what that person brings to the table, that knows your body.”

Cablayan has been Jackson’s speed coach since he was about six years old, and has experience training Olympic level athletes and sprinters as well. Things have “progressed slowly” according to Cablayan, but the Eagles and his personal trainer are targeting the October 20 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys as his return date.
