Philadelphia Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson used his Instagram story to post quotes attributed to Adolf Hitler (which were not his) over the weekend, as well as posts praising Louis Farrakhan, who — as USA TODAY Sports noted — “who is considered to be an anti-Semitic extremist by the Southern Poverty Law Center.”
The Eagles responded in a statement, saying the organization spoke to him about the posts and called them “offensive, harmful, and absolutely appalling.” The franchise said they’re “continuing to evaluate the circumstances and will take appropriate action.”
Not long after that, Jackson put this video with his apology on Instagram:
“I just want to first off extend an apology on behalf of me and what I stand for because … I never want to put any race or any people down. My post was definitely not intended for anybody of any race to feel any type of way, especially the Jewish community.”
