Description of man pulled from park lake released as police work to identify body

Police have released a description of a man pulled from a lake in a Wallasey park on Monday as part of their ongoing efforts to identify him.

The man, believed to be between 45 and 50 was d iscovered in the lake in Central Park in Wallasey around 6.30am.

Emergency services rushed to the park this morning but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been described as white, 45-50 years old, bald and around 5ft 8ins tall. He was wearing a red, white and blue hoodie, black jeans with a brown belt and black boots.

A pair of glasses were also discovered near to the body.

Detective Inspector Paul Parry of Merseyside Police said: "Extensive enquiries are underway to identify this man. I would ask anyone who has information to come forward, whether you recognise who he might be, or have concerns about the wellbeing of a loved one you haven’t heard from recently."

A large police cordon was in place around the lake  and investigations are ongoing at the scene to discover the circumstances of the man's death which is currently being treated as unexplained.

Pictures also showed at least seven police vehicles, including a forensic unit and firefighters who helped pull the body from the lake.
