Viewers of ITV's Des have called for the drama to "win all the awards" over its spine-tingling acting and incredibly dark scenes.
The dark three-part ITV drama followed the 1983 arrest of Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen, played by David Tennant, who murdered at least 12 young men and boys in London.
This evening's episode concluded the drama by airing the outcome of Nilsen's trial, which saw him found guilty of all of the young men's murders.
Viewers heaped the praise onto the drama, which also starred actor Daniel Mays as Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jay and Jason Watkins as biographer Brian Masters, and took to Twitter to comment.
One tweeted: "If Daniel Mays, Jason Watkins & David Tenant don't get awards / recognition for #Des, there's something wrong. As upsetting & anger inducing as it is, the acting & portrayals are absolutely stunning!"
While another commented: "We’re all gripped by #Des but how harrowing when you have to keep reminding yourself that this ACTUALLY HAPPENED! Making it even more chilling! This guys behaviour is the truest form of a serial killer and #DavidTennant deserves all the awards that exist for his portrayal #ITV."
A third wrote: "Can't believe the story of #Des will be wrapped up tonight on @ITV it will surely win some awards, stellar cast."
"Can we hand David Tennant all the awards that exist Brilliant #Des," another commented.
One remarked: "If David Tennant doesn't win all the awards for this, something is very wrong #Des."
Another pleaded: "Please just give David Tennant the NTA, the BAFTA, the Oscar and any other award which involves acting because he deserves them all #Des."
