WASHINGTON _ The Des Moines Register and CNN declined to release a much-awaited final poll before the Iowa caucuses, after concerns were raised by Pete Buttigieg's campaign about how it was conducted.
As reported by The New York Times late Saturday, Buttigieg's name was not included on the list of candidates read to at least one person surveyed, according to his campaign.
"The results of the poll could have been compromised," said CNN political director David Chalian
The survey is conducted by Selzer & Co., a respected Iowa pollster.
"While this appears to be isolated to one surveyor, we cannot confirm that with certainty," Register Executive Editor Carol Hunter wrote in a statement on the newspaper's website. "Therefore, the partners made the difficult decision to not to move forward with releasing the Iowa Poll."
