Derry YouTube star and Blue Peter presenter Adam B made a surprise visit to a young fan this week to thank her for her selflessness.
Young Yazmin Doherty is the top helper at River Radios Christmas Toy Appeal, which collects gifts for families in need across the North West.
Yazmin gives up her time tirelessly to help other children across Derry and the North West have the best Christmas possible.
Yazmin's father and River Radio Director Gerard Doherty spoke to MyDerry about the surprise visit.
Gerard said: "Adam B reached out to surprise visit Yazmin as he had seen that she was a big fan and was doing great things with the River Radio Christmas Toy Appeal over last 2 years for local kids in city.
"So Adam and his dad Paul arranged to come and surprise Yazmin and give her some of his new merchandise. This was incredibly nice of them and they certainly are great local celebrities who look after and local people.
"Adam came into the house with his dad and hid behind the TV and Yazmin was opening the package he left."
As Yazmin came home from school, she was totally unaware that her favourite YouTube star was behind her TV. She was already thrilled at the idea of receiving new Adam B merchandise.
Gerard added: "She thought that we had bought her new Adam B merch, she was buzzing with the new hoodie and then suddenly out pops Adam B himself. She was gobsmacked!
"He spent time talking and playing with Yazmin and was amazing. He had lot time for her listen to her favourite videos."
For Gerard and his family, Adam B's visit allowed for Yazmin to receive a special gift this year, in return for all of the effort she makes for other families and children to have a better Christmas.
Gerard said: "It was a great experience that Yazmin will always remember and we want thank Adam and Paul for what they did."
River Radio are still accepting donations to their Christmas Toy Appeal up until December 23.
Donations can be left at Toy Town, Elkstone Mensware Strand Road and Irish St Community Centre as well as other venues.
