New art courses in Derry are set to bring people together to enjoy a range of beginner to expert classes.
Staff at Eden Place Arts Centre, based on Pilots Row in Derry, are opening their online enrolments this Monday, September 20, from 10am.
Bookings can be made for their array of creative art courses, ranging from photography and wood sculpture to mosaic art.
The new season of workshops and courses contains an ‘Art for Good Health’ class taking place each Tuesday afternoon from 2-4pm.
In this, people who may have suffered from ill health will benefit from some time out to express themselves creativity and learn new art skills. There is no art experience necessary. This course is free of charge and will run from October 5 - November 23.
Photography enthusiasts can enjoy Eden Art’s Camera Club, every Wednesday evening from 7.30-9.30pm. Guest speakers will enlighten those who partake and members of the course will take part in competitions as well as going to exhibitions.
Wood sculpture classes will be taking place on Monday mornings 10-12noon, 12.30-2.30pm and Friday night 7-9pm. This course is tailored for beginners and experts alike.
Spinning and Weaving classes will take place on Monday evenings from 7-9pm, perfect for those looking to obtain a new skill.
Several painting classes and workshops will be taking palace, from painting for beginners to landscape painting and life drawing.
Upcycling classes on Thursday afternoons 2-4pm will allow members to transform a piece of their own old furniture using chalk paint.
Members can also hone their creative skills in a creating with polymer clay course on Friday mornings from 10.30-12.30pm, creating a finished piece of their choice by the end of the course. Additionally, Friday afternoons from 2-4pm, the centre will host a mosaic art introductory course for those looking to create a stunning mosaic piece.
