Visitors and natives to Derry have enjoyed the welcome return of Derry Halloween this year.

With innovative installations and using the cityscape to its maximum capacity, the organisers have made Derry Halloween a safe and friendly environment.

As well as a weekend of frights and festivities, the long-awaited fireworks finale will also return to end the Halloween celebrations on Sunday evening, Halloween night.

In line with Covid restrictions and to keep people as safe as possible, there will be two fireworks displays happening at the same time, allowing people to spread along the River Foyle with the guarantee of a good view.

Here is all you need to know in preparation for the fireworks event:

  • The fireworks finale will be taking place this evening (October 31) at 9pm.
  • To ease congestion the fireworks will be released from two locations on the River Foyle. One of the locations will be above Sainsburys, and the other near the Council’s Strand Road offices, along the River Foyle's quayside.
