Derry Girls stars share self-isolation video from 1996 lockdown 'bunker'

While season three of popular Channel 4 hit TV show Derry Girls hasn't reached our screens just yet, two of the stars of the series have brought us a bit of joy.

Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Louisa Harland, who play Erin and Orla on the sitcom, have made a new lockdown video.

And don't worry the two stars didn't break the social distancing rules either because they live together.

The video, set in 1996, shows cousins Erin and Orla from their "underground bunker" after being put on lockdown by “the authorities” or their “mammies”, as Orla says.

And the short clip shows much of what audiences have come to love as the pair squabble and make references to their family, who are apparently downstairs watching Family Fortunes.

At the beginning of the video Erin says: "Good evening my name is Erin Quinn and this is Orla McCool.

"The year is 1996 and we're speaking from Derry, Northern Ireland. These are uncertain times. Peace negotiations have broken down and mass rioting engulfs our streets."
