It is not yet known what role Saoirse will play in the film, based on the popular superhero character Flash, who uses his speed superpowers to save the world.

However, Ron Livingston will portray the eponymous superhero’s father, Henry Allen, according to US publication Variety.

He replaces Billy Crudup, who recently departed the role because of scheduling conflicts for the Apple TV Plus drama “The Morning Show.”

The cast also includes Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton both as Batman, with rumours swirling that the movie will explore the multiverse.

In the first stand alone adventure for The Flash, Ezra Miller will star as the Scarlet Speedster known as Barry Allen.

Ian Loh is also joining the cast as young Barry.
