Derry Girls star has hilarious reaction to England's goal in Euros semi-final

One of the stars of Derry Girls had a brilliant reaction to England's crucial goal at the Euros semi-final last night.

Siobhán McSweeney, who is from Cork but currently lives in London, was watching the England versus Denmark match with her friend and Labour Party councillor, Kevin Brady.

The match saw the Three Lions navigate their way into their first major final in 55 years thanks to an own goal and a penalty in extra time from star striker Harry Kane.

It's fair to say that Siobhán's reaction to one of England's goals truly channelled the spirit of Sister Michael, who the actress plays in Derry Girls.

The tweet from Cllr Kevin Brady jokingly claimed that Siobhán was "England's biggest fan", as the camera pans to show her deadpan expression and eye-roll.

Siobhán herself responded to the tweet with a quick explanation: "HE SAID WE WERE GOING TO DINNER!"

It was recently announced that Siobhán McSweeney will be starring in a new four-part series, Exploring Northern Ireland with Siobhán McSweeney, after her time filming Derry Girls allowed her to fall in love with the country.

Prior to filming the hit comedy show, she said she had never stepped foot in Northern Ireland.
