Derry Girls receives BAFTA TV Awards 2019 nomination in Scripted Comedy category

Derry Girls has been nominated for a BAFTA TV award for 2019.

The popular Channel 4 sitcom received a nomination in the Scripted Comedy category.

The show, which is currently in its second season, was first aired on January 4, 2018.

The program was created Lisa McGee and is directed by Michael Lennox.

The show revolves around a group of teenage girls who attend a Catholic secondary school in Derry during The Troubles.

It will be competing at the BAFTA awards with BBC Two's Mum, Sally4Ever on Sky Atlantic and Stath Lets Flats on Channel 4.
