Derry Girls cast rehearse over Zoom and fans go wild as stars prepare for third series

The cast of Derry Girls have reunited over Zoom to rehearse before filming resumes for the third season.

Show writer Lisa McGee sent fans into meltdown when she tweeted a photo of herself and the rest of her co-stars on the call from their respective homes.

The post was re-shared by Nicola Coughlan, who plays Clare Devlin on the Channel 4 sitcom.

It appears the rest of her team - including Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louise Harland and Jamie-Lee O'Donnell joined in on the catch-up call to practise their lines.

Lisa wrote: "Rehearsing #Derrygirls #RTEComicRelief."

Underneath her comment, she added that Dylan, who plays James' character, was on the call but his face was hiding on the Zoom side menu.

Lisa McGee shared the photo on her Twitter page (Twitter)

She added: "Dylan is there lads he's just not on screen. Xxx."

Meanwhile, fans of the hit show - which is based during the political conflict of the Troubles in the 1990s - took to Twitter to share their excitement as the girls worked away at memorising their scripts for the upcoming series.
